First make sure the ear dome is fit snugly inside your ear canal. Second, if you have the volume turned up above level 7 we recommend using closed dome as it prevents sound from escaping your ear canal and becoming re-amplified by the microphone. Using the Amplifier in Restaurants - Even the most expensive prescription hearing devices cannot completely eliminate background noise but using a closed (or magic) ear dome can help to minimize the amount of background noise that is able to get inside your ear canal.
